Zynga has added a new social networking game to its already spectacular lineup on Facebook. Games like Mafia Wars, Vampire Wars and Farmville are played by millions of people monthly and Café World is poised to rise to the top. With over 20 million players monthly Café World is fast filling up with top chef’s vying to own the best eatery in cyber space.
Getting Started
After allowing the application to install, future chefs choose their avatar, male or female and are welcomed to the restaurant business. Chef Amelia guides new restaurateurs through their first steps and shows them how to hire an employee to help wait tables.
Chef’s are given a set amount of coins and cash to begin with and must earn more by cooking and serving recipes. Players should be aware of selecting recipes that cook quickly if they aren’t going to be logged in to serve the food. If the food spoils, coins are lost.
At anytime during play hovering over the stove will show how much time the dish has left. Hovering over other items on the screen will display tips about that item. There may be times when it is wise to stop an item cooking and put another one on that takes longer. An example would be if a recipe has two hours left and it is time to go to bed. It will spoil before it is removed from the stove, so adding a new dish makes more sense in the game.
As players visit other chef’s restaurants they earn coins for tasting their recipes and stopping by to visit. Players level up as they accumulate more points. Their cafe is visited more often as their buzz rating grows.
Personalization
Chefs can personalize their avatar and their restaurant. Some options are free and others cost coins or cash. Chefs can change their clothing, shoes, eye color, hair color, skin tone, facial hair, and add glasses if they desire.
The restaurant is where personalization and growth really come into play. As money is accumulated, the restaurant can grow to allow for more customers and to create a more pleasant dining experience. Each item has locked choices that can only be purchased after reaching certain levels. Choices for the restaurant’s growth include:
- Restaurant Size
- Stoves
- Tables
- Chairs
- Flooring
- Windows
- Doors
- Walls
- Decorations
These options allow players to make their restaurants more personalized and show their style.
Future Game Options
As the game progresses more options open up. Continue to grow the restaurant, visit friend’s restaurants and unlock more recipes. Be the top chef in Café World, join other chefs for game discussion and make new friends.
